In late March, the Chinese Ministry of Finance announced plans to abolish several government fees, including medical device testing fees associated with CFDA registration. That's a big deal because for a typical medium risk device, testing fees can be $5,000 to $10,000. The new policy went into effect April 1, 2017.

Until till now six testing facilities have confirmed the news. Abolishing testing fees should be a boon for foreign medical device companies looking to sell in China.
